Sunbrella® Fabric Care – Deep Cleaning & Mildew Removal
Sunbrella® Fabric Care – Deep Cleaning & Mildew
While Sunbrella fabric is mildew-resistant, mildew can grow on dirt and debris left on the surface. For deeper cleaning:
Mix 1 cup bleach + ¼ cup mild soap + 1 gallon water
Apply with a soft brush and allow to soak up to 15 minutes
Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry
Repeat if needed
Machine Washing (for removable fabric):
Use cold water and mild soap
For heavy stains, add 1 cup of bleach
Rinse thoroughly
Air dry (do not machine dry)
Re-treatment is recommended after machine washing
Helpful Tips for Sunbrella® Fabric:
Always rinse thoroughly after using bleach
Protect surrounding plants, carpet, or fabrics when cleaning
Do not use steamers or high-temperature irons
If needed, iron on the synthetic setting after testing a small, hidden area
Sunbrella air dries quickly — no machine drying is necessary
Re-Treating Sunbrella® Fabric
Sunbrella fabrics come with a water-repellent finish that should be restored after deep cleaning or every 5 years of use.
We recommend 303® High Tech Fabric Guard™:
-
Clean and fully dry the fabric
-
Apply 303 in a well-ventilated area
-
Spray a thin, even coat and let dry completely
-
Apply a second light coat for best results
